Getting started
You are in within a minute
No sign-up and no setup. The app starts with you, not with a list of features.
Install the app
Get Verbalu student from Google Play and open it. You are in at once, as a guest.
Enter a code or plant a goal
Got a code from your trainer? Enter it and the app opens the right activity. Studying on your own? Write down what you want to learn and add your first small habit.
Come back for a few minutes
A few minutes of study or one finished activity already makes the day count. The rest grows by itself: your streak of weeks, the plants and the garden.
Habits
A small step you check in with one tap
Ten minutes of reviewing your notes, one round of flashcards, a walk without the phone. Pick a habit from the ready ideas or write your own, and check it in when you have done it.
- Your rhythm. On chosen days, a few times a week or several times a day. You can also set a habit aside for a while, and its streak will wait.
- One slip does not break a streak. Only two in a row start it again. A day without a check-in is not a penalty, just a day without a check-in.
- Learning or looking after yourself. A learning habit makes the day count as a learning day in your week. Sleep, movement and breaks feed the garden, and learning days are counted separately.
- A plant for every habit. It grows with each day you check in: from a seed in a pot to a plant rooted for good after 66 days.
How a habit grows
A seed in a pot First sprout Seedling after 3 days Young plant after a week In bud after 21 days Rooted for good: 66 days
One slip does not break a streak. Only two in a row start it again.
Goals and your week
A goal sets the direction. What counts are the days you sit down to study
Write in one sentence what you want to learn, why, and by when. Each goal gets a plant that grows with every day you study.
- A week that fits you. You decide how many days a week you want to study. Days off are part of the plan.
- A streak of weeks, not days. What counts is a week kept, so one bad day spoils nothing.
- A goal linked to a program. Link a goal to a course or a group and you will see next to it how far along you are.
- A deadline you can move. The date of the exam or the end of the course is a hint. No date is fine too.
Your week
4 days a week- Mon
- Tue
- Wed
- Thu
- Fri
- Sat
- Sun
3 of 4 learning days 1 more day and the week is kept.
Garden
An island that grows along with you
Every finished activity and every habit you check in is rain over your 3D island. You furnish it your way with the drops you collect, and on the first screen you see it under a sky that changes with the time of day.
- Rain for studying. A quiz, a course step, a focus block or a checked-in habit all give drops. The first activity of the day gives more.
- A break shows, but nothing is lost. After three days without rain the island starts to dry out. One activity brings it back.
- Make it yours. Meadow, forest, desert or mountains, plus plants, decorations and your avatar.
- Private until you choose to show it. The garden is not a leaderboard and does not judge results. You can share it by link with whoever you like.
The 3D garden will appear here
From your trainers
Everything shared with you, in one place
Courses, events, knowledge bases, surveys and quizzes from your trainers wait on a single list. No more hunting for links in e-mails and chats.
- Waiting for you. The first screen shows what is on right now, what is new and what will soon be gone.
- The Learning menu. Study programs, wikis, events and courses on four shelves.
- One code for everything. Enter the code from your trainer's screen and the app opens the right activity by itself.
- Just like in the browser. Quizzes, surveys, courses and games work in the app the way they do on verbalu.com.
Waiting for you
My results
Come back in six months and see what has changed
When you fill in a survey, a test or a competency wheel in the app, your answers are kept in My results. After the next attempt the app puts both results side by side.
- Your own copy. The result stays with you even when the trainer closes or deletes the session.
- Two attempts on one scale. You see where you were before and where you are now, question by question.
- For your eyes only. Neither the trainer nor the group can see this copy.
What has changed

- Public speakingfrom 4 to 7
- Planning my workno change
- Teamworkfrom 5 to 8
This is your own copy. Only you can see it.
Reminders
It speaks up rarely, and only when there is a reason
Reminders stay off until you turn them on yourself. After a week without an answer the app goes quiet by itself.
- At your hour. Every habit can have its own time. You check it in straight from the notification with one tap.
- A glance at the day. Once a day, and only when habits are left or the week can still be saved.
- A garden without rain. When nothing has watered it for three days.
- News from your trainers. When a new activity or announcement appears in your group.
Account and privacy
Your data, your rules
The app needs no account and shows no ads. Your goals, habits and results are yours.
Guest or account
Start as a guest. When you sign in (Google, a password or an emailed code), the plan and the course places from your phone move to the account.
The same account as on verbalu.com
Courses, groups, the garden and the avatar are shared between the app and the browser.
Delete whenever you want
You can ask for your account and data to be deleted from the Profile tab or from the website.

Running a class? Tell your group about the app
There is nothing to set up and nothing to change in your sessions. A participant with the app simply has your materials at hand.
- The same code you show on the screen works in the app
- Whatever you add to a group, the participant finds under Waiting for you
- A notification tells them about a new activity in the group, if they turned it on
Questions
Before you install
Is the app paid?
No. Verbalu student is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases.
Do I have to create an account?
No. As a guest you have goals, habits and the garden right away, and you join classes with a code. An account helps when you want the same courses, groups, garden and avatar on verbalu.com or on a second phone. You can sign in with Google, a password or an emailed code.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not yet. Today the app is on Google Play, for Android phones. On an iPhone you can join the same classes in the browser: go to verbalu.com/join and enter the code from your trainer.
Can I use it without a trainer?
Yes. Goals, habits, reminders and the garden are yours and need no code. Courses, events, surveys and quizzes appear when a trainer shares them with you or when you enter a code.
Who can see my goals, habits and results?
Only you. Neither the trainer nor the group can see your goals, your habits or the copies kept in My results. The answers you send in an activity, in a quiz for example, reach the trainer just as they do in the browser. The garden is private until you share it by link yourself.
How often does the app send notifications?
Never, until you turn them on. Then it reminds you of a habit at the hour you set, sums up the day at most once a day and lets you know about news in your group. After a week without the app being opened it sends one farewell notification and goes quiet.
Which phones does it work on?
On phones with Android 7.0 or newer. The app uses the system WebView component, so on an older phone it is worth updating it in Google Play.
What languages is the app in?
English, Polish and Spanish. You change the language in the Profile tab. Activities are in the language the trainer prepared them in.
How do I delete my account and data?
In the app, open Profile and choose "Delete account and data", or send the request from verbalu.com/delete-account. You can ask for the whole account to be deleted or only selected data.
I run classes. What do I need to do for participants to use the app?
Nothing new. Participants enter the code you show on the screen in the app just as they would in the browser. If you run a group, everything you add to it shows up for the participant under Waiting for you.
