AI Roleplay for sales and soft-skills trainers
The whole room practises the conversation at once, not two people in front of the rest
During your training, every participant talks on their own phone with a client, a boss or an employee played by AI, in writing or out loud. The AI scores the conversation against your criteria, and you get a summary of the group for the debrief.
- Participants join with a code or a QR, with no account and no app
- Written or spoken conversation, in any of 38 languages
- You pay for conversations, not per-person licences, and know the group's cost up front
Ordinary role-play
- 2 people practise, 14 watch
- The trainer hears one conversation
- Whoever is shy does not practise
AI Roleplay
- 16 conversations at once, each on its own phone
- Every conversation recorded and scored
- A summary of the group for the debrief
See it in action
A counterpart who does not make it easy
This is what a scene looks like: a character with a hidden goal, the participant's conversation and the evaluation against the criteria, quoting what the participant actually said.
How it works in a training session
From a description of the situation to the debrief in one session
The scene is one of the exercises of your training. You run it; the AI plays the counterpart and scores the conversations.
Before the training
Describe the situation or point to your material
One sentence is enough, e.g. "the client compares our offer with a cheaper competitor", or your own material: a product description, a price list, a conversation model. The AI writes the character with a private brief (what they want, what they hide, what wins them over) and the scoring criteria. You edit everything before the session.
In the room
Participants join with a code
They scan a QR or type a code on their phone and give a name. No account and nothing to install. You set how many exchanges a conversation has and how many attempts each person gets.
During
Everyone talks at the same time
Each person holds their own conversation, typing or speaking into the microphone. The character's mood shifts with what it hears. The conversation can take place in a messenger, a team channel, a mailbox or around a table in a 3D meeting room.
Afterwards
A debrief on real conversations
Everyone gets a score against your criteria, quoting what they said. You see the transcript of every conversation, the group's results criterion by criterion and a summary: strengths, recurring mistakes ("3 of 5 people") and where to start the debrief. Export to CSV.
Example scenes
Conversations your participants hold at work
The AI writes any of them from one sentence, and you adapt it to your company, product and group.
Sales and customer service
- The client says "too expensive" because a competitor is 15% cheaper.
- A discovery call with a client who answers in half-sentences.
- Calling a client who has not ordered anything for six months.
- An angry client with a complaint: without caving in and without a fight.
- Negotiating scope and price with a buyer who has other offers on the table.
- A contract renewal: keep the client and offer more.
Soft skills and management
- A first conversation with a team member whose results have dropped.
- Feedback for an experienced employee who does not want to hear it.
- Saying no to a manager who keeps adding projects.
- A retrospective that has turned into finding someone to blame.
- Reporting a late project to a board that wants a date, not nuance.
- A job interview or a development conversation run by a new manager.
These are examples, not a ready-made library: you write or generate the scene for your group.
What you get
An exercise you stay in control of
Characters who push back
Every character has a private acting brief: attitude, hidden goal and what makes them soften. The participant does not see it. A compliant counterpart teaches nothing.
Your scoring criteria
You score observable behaviour, e.g. asked open questions, named the objection, agreed a next step. In your own words and with your own point weights.
The whole room at once
Everyone joins with a code and has their own conversation and their own feedback, at the same time as the rest of the group.
Spoken conversation
Characters speak in their own voices and the participant answers into the microphone. Speech becomes text the participant checks before sending, so the transcript and the score work exactly as they do in writing.
Messenger, channel, mail or meeting room
The same scene can take place in a messenger window, a team channel, a mailbox or around a table in a 3D meeting room, and the characters write in the style of that medium.
A summary of the group
One button gives you the whole group's scores in one view: what went well, which mistakes recurred and where to start the debrief.
The AI writes the first draft
One sentence or your own training material becomes a scene: the cast, the characters' briefs and the criteria. All of it editable before the session.
Outside the room, too
You can leave a scene open: participants join with the code whenever they like, e.g. before or after the training. You can also add it to a course as a module.
How it differs
Practice inside your training, not solo drills
Most AI conversation-practice tools are built for an employee practising alone, with a results dashboard for the manager, and sold as a per-person licence. AI Roleplay is a trainer's tool: it runs during the training, with the whole group at once, and participants need no accounts or licences.
| Typical solo practice tool | AI Roleplay | |
|---|---|---|
| Who practises | One employee alone, in their own time | The whole group at once, in your training |
| When | Between meetings, as part of an onboarding programme | During the training, and before and after it too |
| Getting started | An account and a licence for every participant | A code or a QR; participants need no account or licence |
| Who runs it | A manager follows results on a dashboard | The trainer runs the exercise and the debrief |
| After the exercise | Results and trends for the manager | Transcripts and a summary of the group for the debrief in the room |
| Price | Per person, usually with an annual or longer contract | Per conversation, not per person: you see the group's cost before the session, credit packs without a subscription |
We compare a category, not particular products: solo practice tools can be a great choice when people are meant to practise on their own all year round.
What it costs
Work out the cost of your group before the training
Every reply of a character is 1 AI credit, and scoring each conversation is one more. The scene editor shows the same number before you start it.

Questions
Before you use AI Roleplay in a training
Do participants have to create an account?
No. They join with a code or a QR, on a phone or a computer, and only type a name. They install nothing. Only the trainer has an account.
Which language do the characters speak?
The language you choose for the scene. There are 38 to choose from, including English, Polish and Spanish. The participant's screens are in English, Polish and Spanish.
Can a participant speak instead of typing?
Yes. With spoken conversation switched on, characters say their lines in their own voices and the participant answers into the microphone. What they say becomes text they check before sending, so the transcript and the score work exactly as they do in writing. It works on computers and phones. In the room many groups stay with typing, because a dozen phones talking at once is noisy; voice is useful e.g. for practising phone calls.
How does the character know what we sell?
From the description of the situation and the character's brief, which you write yourself or generate from your own material, e.g. a product description, a price list or a conversation model. The character works with what you give it: the more specific the brief, the more realistic the conversation. Go through the scene yourself before the training.
How much does a scene with a group cost?
Every reply of a character is 1 AI credit, and scoring a conversation is 1 credit per person. A group of 15, 12 exchanges and one character comes to about 196 credits, that is US$18 from credit packs or almost the whole monthly allowance of the Pro + AI plan. The scene editor shows this bill before you start the session.
How many people can practise at the same time?
On the Start plan up to 30 participants in one session, on the Pro and Pro + AI plans without a limit. Everyone holds their own conversation at the same time.
Will it replace the trainer?
No, and that is not what it is for. The AI plays the counterpart and scores the conversation against your criteria, but the debrief, the conclusions and what the group is meant to learn stay with you. The scene gives you material for the debrief: the transcript of every conversation and a summary of the group.
Can participants practise outside the training?
Yes. You can leave the scene open: participants join with the code whenever they like and start the conversation straight away. You can set a number of attempts so that someone can try again, or add the scene to a course as a module.
What about data and privacy?
Participants create no accounts and only give a name. The database runs in the European Union and the server functions in Belgium. Conversations are processed by the AI model provider we use for the whole service (Google Gemini, OpenAI or Anthropic), and the providers do not use them to train their models. Details are on the "Security & data" page.
I run a training firm. Will participants see my brand?
Yes. From the Pro plan, participants see your firm's name and logo instead of Verbalu. You run scenes, quizzes and polls under your own brand, on one organization account for your team of trainers.
Try a scene before your next training
