Team game
Origami shelter
A teamwork-under-pressure game - participants fold paper animals while Verbalu splits them into teams, runs the clock and hands out secret tasks.
What is the Origami shelter game?
The Origami animal shelter is a team game about cooperation, time pressure and conflicting goals. Participants fold paper animals at shelter tables. The game itself happens off-screen - with origami paper - while Verbalu splits players into teams, runs the clock, hands out secret personal tasks and collects a report of the figures made.
Each table gets a shared goal: fold as many animals as possible within the set time. Some people will also see a secret personal task (e.g. 'fold as many dogs as you can') - visible only to them. Everyone ticks off the figures they make on their phone, and you watch the report live and keep the time. Only in the debrief do you reveal the secret tasks - they're what spark the most interesting situations (the Kolb cycle).
Features
Key capabilities
Off-screen game
Folding happens with origami paper; the phone only handles splitting, time and the report.
Splitting into teams
Participants scan a QR code and Verbalu assigns them to tables and shows the shared goal.
Secret personal tasks
Some players get a hidden goal that conflicts with the team's - the source of the most interesting tension.
Time keeping
You set the folding time (3–30 min) and can shorten or extend it live.
Live report
Everyone ticks off the figures they make on their phone, and you see the score and tables' progress.
Folding instructions
Participants get the folding instructions on their own screen - upload your own PDF or keep the built-in one, ready to go.
Winning table and leaders
At the end the console announces the winning table and the leaders in each figure category - something to celebrate before the debrief.
Step by step
How it works

Participants join
They scan a QR code, Verbalu assigns them to a table and shows the shared goal.
Fold and tick off
Teams fold animals, some players pursue a secret task, and everyone ticks figures on their phone.
Tally and debrief
After time you announce the winning table, and in the debrief you reveal the secret tasks and their effect.
